Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki, Hawaii
Each weekend, Sunset on the Beach screens a free movie on a 30 foot screen set up on the beach in Waikiki. Bands usually play for two hours before the movie starts, and food and chairs are available for guests who choose not to bring their own blankets. This really is a magical event. The event was begun by the former mayor of Waikiki in 2001, and has become a favorite event for tourists and residents alike. The screenings are at Queen’s Surf in Waikiki Beach, just across from the Honolulu Zoo.
