Iolani Palace in Honolulu, Hawaii

Iolani Palace is the only royal palace on American soil. A beautiful building and an important piece of Hawaiian history, the palace is certainly worth seeing. The palace was built in 1882 and housed the last two monarchs in the Hawaiian kingdom. It was once the center of social life in Hawaii. Today, the palace is run by a non-profit that is committed to preserving this beautiful building and Hawaiian landmark. Each Friday, the Royal Hawaiian Band gives free concerts on the palace grounds, and tours are offered throughout the week for a small fee.
